a happening at the havana melbourne august 1998 The boys' first full-length show. And how could they go wrong? Like a papier mache tribute to the sets of Gilligan's Island, The Havana restaurant and bar featured a huge fake palm tree sitting amongst its tables. Perfection. And another first...A Happening at the Havana also introduced the world to the iconic "Wheel of Barbra". |

the way we weren't melbourne april 1999 This was the show that put Friends of Barbra on the map. Critically acclaimed and nominated for two Green Room Awards this was the show that answered many of the public's burning questions about Friends of Barbra. It was also a great opportunity for the boys to poke fun at Bryan Adams. |

the way we weren't - return season
melbourne august 1999 Now that they were on the map there was no getting rid of these idiots. This return season saw Friends of Barbra gain some fairly impressive media attention and gave more of the Green Room Awards judges a chance to see the show. Phew. Friends of Barbra won the Green Room Award for Most Outstanding Musical Arrangements in Cabaret. |

the way we weren't
new york may 2000 Having conquered Melbourne most Australian cabaret acts would dare to try their hand at Sydney, perhaps. Maybe even Adelaide? Not our boys...it was straight to the Big Apple for them! Friends of Barbra received fantastic media coverage in New York and the Australian Consulate made them feel very welcome. Add to this a sell-out season and you've got yourself one hell of an international cabaret debut. |

soft as an easychair
melbourne august 2000 After the success of playing to capacity crowds Off-Off-Broadway the Friends of Barbra boys made their way back down under for a season of love songs and dedications. This show was the first (and last) time audiences would see the "Barrel of Barbra". Let's not ever speak of it again. |

the way we weren't - return season
new york april 2001 For their return New York season Friends of Barbra was proud to play to capacity crowds again, despite this season clashing directly with Easter and Passover. Timing! The Friends of Barbra boys were excited to share The Duplex Cabaret Theatre with stand-up comedian and TV personality Ms. Joan Rivers during this two week season. The Australian Consulate held a reception in their honour as well. Crikey! |

a star is bored They checked out of Betty Ford and cleared probation just in time for this world tour. This season saw Friends of Barbra dubbed "the bad boys of Australian cabaret" (...by themselves, but who checks up on those media releases anyway?) |

evergreed
melbourne and sydney october 2004 Friends of Barbra's first Melbourne season in four years and their first season in Sydney. After the success of playing three sell-out seasons Off-Off-Broadway, Friends of Barbra made their way back home for a season focussing on Barbra setting out to win the US Presidential Election and take over the White House. This show was the first time audiences saw Nigel's incredible "Baby Grand Piano Fax" and it's the first colour postcard the group has ever used. Finally they can afford it. |

evergreed
new york september 2005 Friends of Barbra's fourth sucessful New York season and the first at a new home, Helen's Cabaret Bar in Chelsea. In this slightly reworked Evergreed Babs is still running for President and the Friends of Barbra boys are her first non-US Citizen Campaign Managers, hell-bent on ushering their fearless leader into the White House. This show was the first time in seven years that Friends of Barbra went without the popular "Wheel of Barbra", however Nigel's "Baby Grand Piano Fax" survived the censor's knife. |
